Ten Random Things

20131014_037.jpg
  1. I'm in LOVE with the light I've had lately at fall sessions! The lack of humidity in the air and the auburn backdrop of the fall foliage is killing me... I'm giddy at every single session and am thoroughly enjoying fall portrait season! Plus, the fun families I'm getting to hang out with make it a little more fun, too. ;)
  2. Speaking of fall portraits. THANK YOU for your support and helping me fill up my calendar!! I love being able to help support my family and do what I love at the same time!
  3. You probably have heard, but the furlough is over! Tommy is back to work and we are breathing normally again. That is... slightly more cautious this time. I'm pretty sure we have another furlough in our future (2014?). We'll see.
  4. Sunday is so big and talkative and so much stinking fun right now!! She is officially 23 months old and the countdown is on for her 2nd birthday! HOW did this HAPPEN?! Check out that absolutely adorable capture up there (top of post!) from our family portrait session last week up. The way Heather photographs Sunday kills me. She would never look at my camera like that!
  5. Umm. We are down to less than 10 Saturdays until Christmas! Anyone else listening to Christmas music already? I'm super excited about the holiday season this year. Sunday just makes everything so much more fun. This year we're keeping things simple and focusing on themes for her birthday and Christmas gifts. (I use the word "themes" lightly.) But, it's really nice to know what the plan is and to feel good about it.
  6. We'll be taking our annual Thanksgiving weekend trip to the beach again this year and I am PUMPED up about not being overwhelmed with work during the entire holiday season! Don't get me wrong. I love what I do! But, I love chilling out with my family even more. (It seems I have worked through my workaholic tendencies! Score!)
  7. If you follow me on Instagram, you've probably caught on that I attended the Pursuit31 conference a few weeks ago. It was life changing and encouraging and beautiful. I honestly want to write all about it but anytime I have deep thoughts to share, I feel like my words don't do them justice. How do I verbalize what God is doing in my heart? In my life? In the lives of the people around me? And in a way that doesn't sound cheesy and commercialized and annoying all at the same time? Perhaps one day I'll start writing more about my faith... but today I'm still struggling with how to even vocalize these thoughts to my dear friends. Good thing I've got some pretty amazing friends that know how to decipher my mush of emotions and words.
  8. I have already designed our Christmas cards and they are ready to order! I'd love to send you one. (Of course, you'll have to send me one of yours, too!) Send me an email with your mailing address and I'll make sure you get one in the mail! (But hurry please, I am ordering them soon and I want to order enough to go around.)
  9. Facebook is slowly falling off my radar. And my love for Twitter is growing more each day. Anyone else? Also, is there anyone my age out there SnapChatting?? I mean... what IS that? Whew, I feel old. I tried to use my cousin's Windows laptop the other day and I couldn't even figure out how to open Google Chrome. Yikes. (I probably shouldn't admit that, huh?)
  10. I've had three Salted Caramel Mochas in the last three days. This is not good. Their whole marketing scheme of "limited time offer" REALLY works. (sigh) I have to get them while I can!!

I miss this!! Be back soon with some stunning fall portraits and more weddings to share!
