Seasons change...

There are seasons in life... the ups, the downs... the in-betweens. I am in one of those seasons when I want to shout from the rooftops about how wonderful things are. And you know what? I pretty much think it's okay that I do that because I have had some really long seasons of wanting to live in a cave and hide from the world, too. I know the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. And that this too shall pass.

But right now?

I am enjoying views like this as I travel across the state for work... loving my job... loving my clients... and loving the beautiful people waiting at home for me as well.

I hope if you are in a season of ups that you are also enjoying the little things! And if you are in a down season, I truly hope that it passes quickly for you.

Happy weekend!

It's all about our perspective

Option 1: My child keeps getting herself into nooks and crannies and thinks she is stuck when she's not. It's kind of annoying.

Option 2: Sunday crawls into these places and cries out for help... and I get to rescue her. I am her every day hero!

Option 1: I am constantly picking up the toys in this living room. It gets SO OLD.

Option 2: I'm picking up toys all the time, but at least I am off my butt moving around and the task literally takes less than 2 minutes. It's good for me to move!

Option 1: I am so tired of cooking three meals a day and cleaing up the kitchen 3 times a day. It's like I live in here.

Option 2: For the first time in my life I am cooking a lot more meals than I am buying and I'm really excited because I am eating healthier than ever and saving so much money.

Having the right perspective is something I am constantly working on. There are days when I simply throw in the towel and pout all day. But then there are days when I can easily see the good in situations. I think a lot of times I blog because it forces me to find the good in a situation. I like keeping this blog as a place of encouragement and positivity, but I also don't want you all to think I don't have my bad days or tough moments. I do. Remember this day?

Okay, end of my public service announcement. :)

Happy weekend, friends! I'm off to my last wedding of the season and the kickoff weekend for Fall Family Portraits! I have a few slots left and I JUST updated the availability on the info page. Shoot me a message if you would like to book!

Passing time...

This is the time of the year where I am repeatedly caught thinking to myself "How is it Thursday already?!" Or "How is it October already?!" For years I have tried to find a way to control my work load so that it is always at a mangeable state. Especially this year. When I found out we were expecting I wanted my top priority to be learning better time management so that I wouldn't feel like I was continually making Sunday wait on me to finish my work.

Well I have finally let go of my need to completely control my workload and surrendered to the mere fact that there are seasons in this industry. Wedding season, family portrait season, and blogging season (aka the "off season"). Right now all of your photographer friends (because let's face it: we all have a photographer friend) are in the midst of both wedding AND family portrait season. Myself included.

All that to say... sadly, the blog has been neglected. But! The good news is that my daughter has NOT. (Tommy, however, he is being a REALLY good sport these days.) Here are a few sneak peeks I have shared recently on Facebook. If you're not a fan of the SLP Facebook page you are missing out on all this eye candy!

My super cute friend, Crystal George:

My sister and her husband celebrating 10 years of marital bliss: My brother and his sweet girlfriend: One of my favorite (fairytale) weddings to date! More of this wedding hitting the blog tomorrow!

Lynchburg Snapshot Studio | Lynchburg Photo Booth

I've had a couple of people ask me if Lynchburg Snapshot Studio is still available for rent and the answer is yes, yes, YES! I realized I haven't blogged pictures from the Snapshot Studio itself so I thought I'd throw a few of my favorites up here for you guys. I love the Snapshot Studio because it produces just about as timeless images as you can get from a photo booth. Plus YOU control the fun with the remote! All the processing is black and white and with minimal patterns and props, the Snapshot Studio creates the perfect backdrop for classy, timeless FUN. Here are some of my favorite pictures taken in the photo booth to date:

Lynchburg Snapshot Studio is a TON of fun and the perfect addition to your next event. Check out the website and reserve the photo booth for your next party!
