Published | Lynchburg Commercial Photographer

I am honored to share that I have had some of my commercial work published in the June issue of Bella Magazine. Let me tell you, it is super fun to pick up a publication only to see your work gracing the pages of it! June was Bella's Travel issue and I had a really fun time both at the Royal Tea Party as well as working with Kim from the Omniterrum in downtown Lynchburg. Be sure to grab the latest issue of Bella before it is replaced by the July issue to see some of my commercial work and read the fun and informative articles about traveling around the world! And stay tuned for some August publication announcements coming up in mid-July. I am SO very excited about them! :)

New website! | Lynchburg Wedding Photographer

I have spent a bit of time here and there the past  few months working on moving my portfolio site from a flash-based site to a wordpress site. The biggest benefit to this is that now it can be viewed on mobile devices!

In addition to changing the format of the site, I spent some time adding a lot of information to the site that I hope will help educate prospective and current clients. Some of the new pages are:

  • Albums. Check out the types of albums I offer and the differences between them!
  • FAQ's. Now all the common questions are answered in one place with easy access for anyone who is curious. Find out my office hours, the type of equipment I use, and read a little more about what your experience with SLP will look like.
  • Liz's Equipment. I listed the equipment I use from camera and lens types to the kinds of bags I use to carry it all.
  • Pricing information. Even though I am no longer accepting clients for the 2011 year, the pricing information on my new site reflects wedding and portrait (a very limited number) openings for 2012.
  • New galleries. I have added a few new 2011 images to the galleries.

As always, I will continue to update the site with new images and information throughout the year. But if you have a minute, go check it all out now!

Spring Mini Sessions

It’s that time of year again to start coordinating the Spring Mini Portrait Sessions!

Those subscribed the SLP mailing list received this information with a special discount a few days ago. If you missed it, make sure to subscribe so you don't miss the next one!

If you are interested in booking a mini session this year, please contact me as soon as possible!

Changes | Business News

Like I mentioned earlier, changes are happening around here!

For a long time now I have been trying to think of ways I can streamline my business in order to offer exceptional customer service to my clients. As my wedding clients increase, I find myself needing to put something else in the backseat so that I can focus my attention on each couple that has invited me to be a part of their wedding day. The time has come for me to limit the number of portrait sessions I take on and I will officially begin this new chapter next month.

As of April 1, 2011 portrait sessions will be available to established clients only. (Past clients, clients who currently have scheduled sessions with me and any past, present and future wedding clients.)

Not an established client? Don't worry! You can reserve your spring or summer session by contacting me before next Friday. In addition, I will be offering a limited number of mini sessions during peak seasons that will be open to anyone.

To have the first chance to sign up for the limited mini sessions, join my mailing list now! I will be sending out a newsletter soon announcing the first mini session dates!

Style Shoot | Lynchburg Wedding Photographer

So I mentioned to you all weeks ago (on Facebook) that I was working on a special project and I couldn't wait to share the details with you. Well, the day has finally come! A few months ago Jennifer called me about an idea for a project and after hearing the details it didn't take me more than a second to decide I was on board. After a few long meetings with a core group of people (the project management team), we watched as various Hill City Bride vendors came together on a cold, snowy day in an old building with no electricity (read: no heat) and broken out windows. They brought their individual talents and came together to make Jennifer's vision come to life. The images you see below are the final results.

I could not be more proud of this project, more happy for Jennifer, or more excited about future projects with Hill City Bride. Please check out the fruits of our labor in Lynchburg Living's Hitched issue that came out just this past Wednesday and also in coming weeks on the Hill City Bride blog. In the meantime, here are a few pictures I took of the magazine spread.

I'm just a little bit proud... ;)

And, please, do not miss this incredible behind-the-scenes video shot by Brad Bennet of Shaking Hands Production.

It was truly an honor to work with such a hugely talented team of wedding industry professionals. I cannot wait for our next project!

Stay tuned to Hill City Bride for more photos from the day, DIY projects and behind the scenes pictures!
