Your baby’s first year unfolds in a collection of precious, fleeting changes — the first smile that fills their whole face, the determined lift of their head, the way they sit and topple, and the expressions that reveal more of their personality every day.
Baby milestone sessions help you hold onto the little details and growing independence that are so easy to forget once the next stage begins. From tummy time all the way to standing and finally celebrating a first birthday, each session is intentionally planned around who your baby is right now.
In my Forest studio, we will create simple, artful photographs with gentle guidance, timeless styling, and plenty of space for your baby’s genuine expressions to emerge.

A series of sessions that tells the story of your anticipation through your baby’s first birthday.

You do not need to know which milestone you most want to capture, what your baby should wear, or how we will encourage their genuine expressions. I’ll help you plan every detail and gently guide the session according to your baby’s age, abilities, and temperament.

Babies do not need to perform on cue. We will follow their lead and create something beautiful from exactly who they are that day.
When should we photograph your baby?
We focus on capturing milestones in real time during these sessions. Typically, they fall into the following stages:
3-5 months
First smiles, tummy time and tiny details
6-9 months
Sitting, joyful expressions and growing personality
9-12 months
Crawling, standing, and unique expressions
12-18 months
Emerging independence and first birthday changes
These ages are simply a guide. Every baby develops on a different timeline, and we will plan your session around the abilities and expressions your baby is showing now.

There is no single “best” age—each stage offers something wonderfully different to preserve. Three- to five-month sessions capture first smiles, tummy time, and tiny details. Six- to nine-month sessions are especially joyful once babies begin sitting independently, while the months surrounding a first birthday often bring crawling, standing, and an unmistakable personality.
If you are unsure when to schedule, I’ll help you choose the timing based on your baby’s current abilities and the details you most want to remember.

Not at all. Milestone sessions are designed around what your baby can do right now. Younger babies may be photographed during tummy time, lying comfortably on their backs, or supported safely in a parent’s arms. If you are hoping specifically for sitting portraits, I recommend waiting until your baby can sit steadily without assistance.

Absolutely. Although the session will remain centered on your baby, parents and siblings are warmly invited to participate. These photographs often become especially meaningful because they preserve your baby’s size, personality, and connection with the people who love them most.
We’ll discuss who will participate during your planning consultation so I can thoughtfully prepare the session and help coordinate everyone’s wardrobe.

Yes! You will have access to a thoughtfully curated wardrobe for babies and mothers, along with styling guidance for everyone participating in the session. During your consultation, we’ll select pieces that photograph beautifully together while keeping the overall result simple and timeless.

Yes. First-birthday sessions may include simple celebratory details while keeping the focus on your baby. I lean toward timeless styling over elaborate themes so the photographs continue to feel beautiful long after the birthday has passed.
A petite smash cake may be added to an individual Milestone Session and is complimentary with the Heirloom Baby Collection. We’ll discuss styling, colors, and any dietary considerations while planning your session.

Absolutely! If the complete Heirloom Baby Collection is not the right fit, we can create a smaller custom collection around the stages you most want to preserve. Two standalone Milestone Sessions receive a 5% savings, while three or more receive a 10% savings.
