It’s that time of year again! Fall family mini sessions in Lynchburg, VA are opening for booking soon! I’m really excited this year because all of the sessions will be held in the studio driveway in the New London area of Forest, VA. There’s nothing more autumn like than being surrounded by tall trees covered in fall foliage!
This sweet boy! He is just perfection!! His perfect skin and babydoll face, paired with his calm and relaxed demeanor... I mean I try not to have favorites, but if I did, this guy would be in the running for SURE! He was an absolute gem during his Six Month Milestone Session at the studio - not that I expected any less.
I recently had a wonderful family portrait session at the field with this precious family! They took advantage of my Spring Mini Session Special and I was SO excited about how everything came together perfectly for their session! When you combine a beautiful family, admirable group dynamics (these boys were SO sweet with one another and their parents!), the perfect clothing choices, and then the LIGHT decides to be absolute perfection, too… well it all culminates into one of my favorite family portrait sessions I have ever photographed!

This beautiful mama came to the studio early to have her makeup done by one of our exclusive makeup artists while her precious and happy baby boy sat contentedly in his carseat and observed all the happenings around him. Before she settled into the makeup chair, we went through a few different clothing options from the studio wardrobe and we narrowed down our options to the items you see below. Emily chose to style her own hair and all of the pieces of our preparation came together so beautifully!

Mommy & Tween Session
We were crazy blessed to meet Kristy when we walked into Sunday's very first Pre-K classroom to meet her teacher and there she stood, ready to shake our hands and welcome us into her space. Little did we know at that time how important Mrs. Lunetta would become to our family!
Kristy and her daughter Jessie have a uniquely bittersweet story. Their beloved husband and father passed away a few years ago and they live life missing him every day. I wanted to do something special for Kristy at the end of Sunday's first year in her classroom, to express our gratitude for her kindness and patience she showed towards Sunday and all of her classmates, but also to thank her for her beautiful display of what it looks like to walk alongside Jesus through hard seasons. Kristy is a beautiful example of a woman walking in the grace of God. As she raises her beautiful daughter with love and kind discipline, I watch with admiration and hope I can be half the mom she is.
Below are a few of my favorite pictures of our time together in the studio. For the last few minutes, we stepped out into the chilly air to snap a few pictures by their request. The sun glare in the background made me think their husband and dad was looking down on them and smiling as they snuggled up and their beaming smiles while wrapped in each other's arms gave me no doubt those pictures were meant to be taken in that moment, in that place, on that very day.
What a magical bond they share. Thank you for allowing me to capture it, Kristy. It was my honor.
