This session with her precious baby boy was honestly a turning point for me in my newborn work last year. I loved capturing him in his natural sleeping positions, feet curled up on his belly and his head leaning on his shoulders. It all felt so uninterrupted and I fell in love with the organic baby approach so much more as I worked through this session.
Yesterday I shared in my 2019 Goal Setting, Pt. 1 blog post about my reflections of 2018 and what I learned throughout the year. Today I am excited to share with you what my goals are and some of the small steps I will be taking to reach each of them!
I probably sound like a broken record saying “This is one of my favorite sessions I’ve ever photographed!” but I wouldn’t be a growing artist if I couldn’t keep saying that - right? :) In all honesty, this family was so pleasant to work with. Baby Levi was an absolute gem, sleeping through his entire session! Mom and dad weren’t afraid to show him all the love and affection and they all made my job so easy to grab some great captures of their photogenic family. :)
I’ve been using Lara Casey’s Powersheets for my goal planning the past few years. I love Powersheets because before you even begin to set your goals, there’s an entire section dedicated to walking you through a process of looking back over the past year at what worked, what didn’t work, what your big dreams are, and also asks you big questions like where do you want to be when you’re 80 (talk about perspective!), and more!
When Sarah reached out to me to let me know she was expecting and she wanted me to photograph her maternity + newborn sessions, I was ALL SMILES… and so very excited!
