I have been so excited to share this session! While my clients primarily choose to have their maternity sessions photographed at the studio, in the field, or in the garden, I do have a few clients who request entirely different locations. I am happy to go wherever my clients ask and for this particular session, I photographed this beautiful expectant couple in the nursery they designed just for their sweet little girl.
Their first babies made an appearance at the end of the session as well! They were so well behaved and have gentle demeanors, I know they are going to make the best big fur-siblings for the newest member of their family!
This little fur-baby has the right idea... now we wait! :)
Are you expecting and ready to book your maternity session? I am currently booking sessions as far out as early Winter 2017. Maternity sessions are best scheduled between 30-36 weeks of pregnancy. If you have waited until the last minute, please contact me - if I am able to fit you in, I will! I don't want you to miss out on the opportunity to have this short and sweet season of life documented.
All maternity sessions include the use of the studio wardrobe, a styling consultation to discuss the look and feel you desire for your session, as well as my exclusive client preparation guide. On site hair and make-up services are also available with our stylist so that you feel relaxed, confident and beautiful at your session. I make the process of preparing for your session simple and seamless, so you can focus on your first priority, celebrating this brief season of life. Contact me today to reserve your session.
I had such a wonderful time bringing Ashley’s vision to life during her maternity session in the studio! She wanted a look that was both classic and modern, and together we designed a maternity experience that felt polished, relaxed, and full of personal touches.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned as both a mom and a Lynchburg maternity photographer, it’s this: pregnancy is a fleeting season. No matter how you’re feeling, you’ll never regret having beautiful photos that document any season of your family’s story, but this one is especially special. Whether you’re dreaming of outdoor maternity photos in Lynchburg or a cozy, in-home lifestyle session, I want to help you prepare so your experience feels effortless and your photos become keepsakes you’ll treasure forever.
Winter is my favorite time of year to shoot at the field. The location of this field is in Bedford, VA and when the sun hits just right, the space glows with a soft texture that’s almost angelic! It just lights me up and I get so excited while shooting! :)
I had the honor of photographing this beautiful family for a maternity session celebrating their fourth daughter’s coming arrival!
We started the session inside in the studio to accommodate their young daughters and help to limit their time outdoors in the colder temperatures.
If it seems a little early for maternity pictures, I’ll confess. I broke my own rules and scheduled our family maternity session wayyyy before I was 30 weeks along.
But my heart was set on beach portraits, so I justified my rule-breaking pretty quickly.
It’s not often I have the opportunity to photograph a maternity session in the studio (located in Bedford, VA) so I was SO excited when Brittany and Travis requested this location for their session with me. The unpredictable weather and cold temperatures had us all grateful for the warm studio on this wintery day!
If you’ve ever worked with me, chances are you’ve seen my childlike reaction to good light, beautiful moments, and genuine interaction: a bit of giddiness that sounds a lot like a broken record. I can’t help myself! I get so excited when the image I have had in my head comes out so seamlessly while I’m shooting! I am so thankful to work with clients who trust me from the very first step to guide them to a final product of high quality imagery.
If you have ever had a photo shoot with me and choose to add-on professional hair and make-up, you have probably met Emily! Emily is a mama of five, a talented hair and make-up artist, and one of the most down to earth people I have ever met. I love every chance we get to chat and catch up on life in between running our own businesses! I loved collaborating with her on this shoot and capturing the vision she had for it! This summer maternity session in a field was full of dreamy sunset light and intimate moments.
I am so excited to share this gorgeous maternity session in the field with you!
All potential (and of course booked) clients are encouraged to schedule a studio consultation to meet with me and talk through options for your portrait session. Your options can range from locations to group photo combination varieties as well as clothing options. During Samantha’s consultation she told me right away she knew she wanted her maternity session in the field so we spent out time focused mostly on her clothing options. When she stepped out from the wardrobe dressing area wearing the pink dress and white sweater cardigan you see below, I am pretty sure I let out an audible gasp.
When Sarah reached out to me to let me know she was expecting and she wanted me to photograph her maternity + newborn sessions, I was ALL SMILES… and so very excited! Sarah and I go way back and I credit her for my introduction to the beautiful Glencliff Manor Estate (as well as a whole slew of wonderful client referrals)!
